2017 Mardi Gras and

All That Jazz Benefitting

Lourdes Foundation

 

Paducah, KY - Lourdes Foundation’s Fat Tuesday tradition continued, Tuesday, February 28, where crowds celebrated the 15th annual Mardi Gras & All That Jazz at the Julian Carroll Convention Center.

 

Lourdes supporters turned out to celebrate Fat Tuesday raising more than $75,000 in total proceeds to benefit Lourdes Foundation. Mardi Gras event also hit an impressive milestone, hitting the $1 million mark in total fundraising dollars since the annual event was established 15 years ago.

 

Funds raised at this annual event are used to support programs and services, provide facility upgrades and purchase state-of-the-art technology for the patients of Lourdes Hospital.

 

“We are proud to celebrate a historic year for Mardi Gras & All That Jazz!” said Jessica Toren, Interim President of Lourdes Foundation. “Since it began in 2003, this important event has officially raised more than one million dollars for the Lourdes Foundation to fund important needs at Lourdes!”

 

Guests enjoyed food and beverages from a variety of local restaurants and vendors while Lew Jetton and 61 South entertained the crowd with classic blues and Southern rock music.

Lourdes Breakfast to Raise Colon Cancer Awareness

PADUCAH, KY - To help raise awareness for colon cancer awareness month, Lourdes is hosting a free educational breakfast on Tuesday, March 21 from 8 – 9 am in the Borders Community Room at Lourdes Hospital. 
 

Mercy Gastroenterologist, Dr. Ross Jones and Mercy General Surgeon, Dr. David Mauterer will be the guest speakers. Attendees will also be able to tour the 20-foot long, inflatable Incredible Colon, which will be set up outside the first floor entrance of the Marshall Nemer Pavilion before and after the breakfast.

SEVENTH ANNUAL MURRAY HALF MARATHON

 

MURRAY, KY -  The Murray Half Marathon (MHM) is a 13.1 mile route that gives runners a grand tour of our fine city. Runners start at the Center for Health and Wellness on Poplar Street before heading downtown to the historic courthouse square.  After winding through scenic Central Park, the runners then hit the pavement of the Murray State University's beautiful campus.  The runners continue the race on the west side of the city, where they pass through various residential and commercial neighborhoods before returning to Murray-Calloway County Hospital to finish the race.  The route stays fairly flat and offers plenty of scenery along the way. - See more at: http://www.murrayhospital.org/Service.aspx?PageID=407#sthash.yjAl9TbV.dpuf

CELEBRATE RED CROSS MONTH BY GIVING BLOOD IN MARCH

During Red Cross Month in March, the American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to join in its lifesaving mission by giving blood.

Since 1943, every U.S. president has designated March as Red Cross Month to recognize how the Red Cross helps people across the country and around the world. Red Cross Month is a celebration of supporters, who are the face of the Red Cross in their communities and bring hope to people facing emergencies.
